Everyone is tempted with junk food now and then but there are lots of great healthy alternatives to junk food that are exceptionally tasty and work just as well but are very healthy.
French Fries - Air Fries - Everyone lots french fries but with all that oil it's really not healthy. What about making fries with an "Air Fryer" it uses hot air to fry any kind of food without oil and because of that you only get the good nutrition of the potato without all that oil. I have an air fryer at home and I love it... works great for organic potatoes, organic sweet potato fries which are even healthier, and even other roots like organic Name' or Cinnamon Vine Root super healthy. And taking organic green plantains and slice them thin and air frying them and dipping them in salsa it's super tasty... we make them at home all the time. Try air frying and see how you like it... most home store carries air fryers now and they are reasonably priced and you can find them on Amazon and eBay.
Ice Cream - Frozen Banana Dessert - I can't think of a single person who doesn't love ice cream. It's cool, creamy, and refreshing... but you can have all of that and great taste too with this wonderful healthy alternative. Take organic bananas and freeze them and some other fruit that you like maybe organic strawberries and blend them together with a little nut milk and a teaspoon of so of raw honey into a wonderful frozen treat. Tastes just like ice cream, and if you add vanilla to frozen bananas it tastes a lot like vanilla ice cream. And allow your imagination to run wild add organic vegan chocolate chips, a bit of organic cocoa powder... or anything else. And this frozen treat is really virtually fat-free... Amazing! Another alternative is to take organic grapes and freeze them and they are tiny fat-free sweet popsicles... very tasty.
Pizza - Healthy Organic Pizza - American's eat more pizza than anywhere else in the world and it's really not healthy with all that fat and carbs. What can we do? You make the crust with organic quinoa, organic buckwheat, even organic rice and beans and you don't taste the beans. I have a great recipe for a crispy rice and beans pizza crust that is to die for... and don't worry you don't taste the beans. And to lower the carbs down a large organic corn tortilla can also be used to substitute for a pizza crust. Also, organic cauliflower can be used to make pizza crust. And instead of using all that fattening cheese which clogs arteries use a bit of mashed organic avocado as a topping for your pizza. And slices of organic eggplant make great mini pizzas and other veggies such as organic zucchini and anything else you can think of.
Potato Chips - Organic Kale Chips - Everyone loves chips but they are fattening and really pack on the pounds. Try placing organic kale leaves in the oven and roasting them until they are crisp and they are really great. Add just a dash of salt and they are just what the doctor ordered... a healthy treat which really tastes great. And thinly sliced zucchini can also be made into healthy chips.
Soda - Kombucha - Lots of people get hooked on soda and it's full of calories, lots of corn sweetener, and carbonic and phosphoric acid which kill kidney tissue— Not Good. Try kombucha tea which is a naturally fermented drink which has lots of health benefits and it comes in natural fruit flavors too and it's very tasty. And it's also full of probiotics to help boost up your immune system and keep you from coming down with diseases. You can find kombucha at any health food store and you can also make your own at home for very little money. Google "How to Make Kombucha Tea".
Candy - Organic Trail Mix with Cacao Nibs - I can't imagine a kid that didn't love candy, but it's empty calories and full of fat and lots of toxic sugar. Instead make a small batch of healthy trail mix with some organic almonds, organic raisins, organic walnuts, organic coconut, organic sunflower seeds, organic dried apple bits, organic dried pear bits, organic dried pineapple bits, a few organic goji berries, and some organic cacao nibs for a bit of chocolatey flavor which is full of energy. This is a very healthy alternative to eating candy.
Give these alternatives to junk food a try... they taste great.
