"...work...less..." ~ Activating Compassion
In a world that pushes us to work more and harder; we need to consider another option. Too often we are programmed to get this and get that; and all it leads to is having things and having nothing. It is time to start working less.
This is an essential part of self care; and doing what you need for yourself. It may take time; and it may have to be done in steps; but it is time to get back to a maximum 40 hour work week. If we don't honor this, we throw ourselves tremendously out of balance; and usually it is the body that suffers. When we push harder the body breaks down; and eventually forces us out of working.
This leads us to learn to re-focus from how much can I work, to how much open time can I create for myself. Now, open time does not mean boring or doing nothing necessarily. It simply means it is time that you are not obligated to all kinds of responsibilities and earning income.
More than ever in this fast past world, and with the way energy is flowing, we need to create openness to deal with things last minute and to have some breathing space. Why do you think open concept homes are becoming so big these days. It is because people need a sense of having breathing room, space, not having every little nook and cranny filled.
Now it is time to shift that into your schedule. Stop booking every minute full. When we create more open time; we allow ourselves to live in the moment and take advantage of amazing opportunities as they arise. It allows us to live with comfortable adventure seizing the moment; which fills us with life, passion, and fulfillment. This comes from having freedom. The more we open things up in our lives, the more command we have over our life.
