For many years twelve-step programs have been a lifeline and a godsend to people all over the world whose lives have been turned around by the comfort and nurturing support of these groups. Yet for many, another step remains to be taken—the inner work that goes beyond the prescribed 12 steps to the root of the problem: the unresolved emotional issues that fuel addiction. Based on Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and how to use it effectively, this downloadable interactive workbook directly addresses the emotional and psychological components of addiction. It does not address the physical aspects of addiction and is not a substitute for detox or treatment programs. The work includes easy and effective step-by-step EFT exercises to change sabotaging beliefs, improve self esteem, cope with daily stresses, overcome abusive childhoods or relationships, learn to forgive, restore dignity, release shame and judgment and find happiness.
Both a teacher and a lifelong learner, my formal education includes a BFA from the University of Denver, and an MA from the University of Colorado at Boulder. My work experience includes both teaching various college level courses and a long career in Corporate America. I am a counselor, professional writer, artist and an educator at heart, and over the years I have used my skills in a variety of ways to help people from all walks of life. For the past nine years I have been on the editorial board and a writer for Bella Spark Magazine, which has now transformed into Regenerate Magazine, for which I continue to be a regular contributor. I also draw on my art background to conduct drawing classes as a tool to help my clients relax, release stress and overcome depression. Many years ago I discovered that the secret to success (for anything) lies in the power of our mind, and if we are genuinely going to make lasting changes it has to happen at the subconscious level, literally from the inside out. It was this change of thinking and a desire to make a career change that led me to pursue advanced training for the energy healing techniques I use today that include EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) PSYCH-K® and The Emotion Code. For more than 11 years I have had a stress private management practice in Ft. Collins, CO that focuses on helping other release trapped emotions, resolve emotional issues, change negative behavior patterns, and reverse false beliefs that are limiting and sabotaging their lives. Although I work with all issues, my specialties include helping people recover from abusive childhoods and relationships, and supporting sobriety for those in recovery from addictions. To that end I recently published a workbook entitled The Next Step: How to Free Yourself from False Beliefs and Negative Thinking Patterns that Drive Addictions and Destructive Behavior.
