I am a licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW-R and Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), with over 18 years of mental health and addictions counseling experience obtained through working with individuals, couples, families and groups in a variety of inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings.
Although I have been known to help people and be a great listen pretty much my whole life my professional career began in 1997 when I completed my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University at Buffalo. I also hold a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology, Bachelors in Music Performance (Classical Guitar) and Associates in Applied Science (Music).
The variety of employment opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to obtain has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from in which I use to assist my clients in achieving their goals. After working in Rochester for several years at Park Ridge Chemical Dependency and The Unity Health System Psychiatric ED, I have had outstanding opportunities to work for the Office of Mental Health inside the Attica Correctional Facility, as a Social Work supervisor for the Designated AIDS center for Western New York at Erie County Medical Center, Per Diem as a therapist for Child and Family Services, and full and part time for Monsignor Carr Institute providing mental health and substance abuse counseling. My most recent full time experience has come from my employment at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center where I have worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker on the inpatient Admissions Unit. I left this position in July 2013 to pursue focus on full time private practice.
