I am a 2014 magna cum laude NYU graduate, where I majored in psychology and triple minored in nutrition, child & adolescent mental health, and chemistry, while completing all pre-health requirements.
I also have a Master's of Science degree in human nutrition from Columbia University Medical Center's Institute of Human Nutrition. I am also an FDA FSMA Food Safety & Quality Certified Individual.
Starting fall 2017, I will be a student at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in the Environmental Health Sciences department, focusing on climate and health.
Outside of academia, I am creativity driven. I am a freelance journalist for a variety of publications, including Spoon University, where I have 6+ millions of pageviews to my name and authored over 160 articles and the Spoon University Guide to Being Healthier - an 80 page downloadable resource to make health accessible to college students. In addition, I write scripts for, film, produce, and edit videos for the platform.
I am also the blogger/founder of kbaked.com, and writer/photographer of the ebook, 40 Easy Vegan Desserts. In addition, I have social media management and brand growth experience.
Previously, I have worked as a researcher and therapist with children with ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. I am passionate about teaching, and have worked as children's nutrition and cooking educator, and have college-level teaching experience in food science/nutrition and chemistry.
It is my larger goal to bring messages of health, nutrition, and sustainability to the public using digestible, shareable original material.
