Martha Brettschneider

I am an author, blogger, speaker, master gardener, and award-winning photographer. Inspiring mindful living through my writing and photography is my passion. Breast cancer reoriented my perception of body, mind, and spirit. Formerly a left-brained international economist and stressed out screaming mom, I transformed into a meditation-touting creative finally at peace with the world. My debut book BLOOMING INTO MINDFULNESS: HOW THE UNIVERSE USED A GARDEN, CANCER, AND CARPOOLS TO TEACH ME THAT CALM IS THE NEW HAPPY (January 2016) chronicles this journey (sample chapter provided on this site). I live in Vienna, Virginia, with my husband, two sons, and our plant-eating golden retriever Apollo (who has taught me the art of letting go).
