I earned my BA in Psychology and Philosophy from the College of William and Mary, my M.Ed. and Ed.S. in Counseling from the School of Education of the College of William and Mary, and my Doctorate in Psychology from California Southern University, with a focus on sports psychology. I served in public sector mental health for over 30 years. I provided counseling to a wide variety of people in individual, couples and group settings. In addition, I provided crisis counseling and managed disaster services mental health. I have been trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Psychological First Aid. I am also trained in taijiquan, qi gong, and yoga. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, the Virginia Counselors Association, and the Virginia Clinical Counselors Alliance. I am currently serving as a field tester with the World Health Organization in the development of the ICD 11. I moved into private practice in 2009. I am also a taijiquan and qigong teacher. I am a member of the Tai Chi for Health Community and the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association. I am also available to give workshops using eastern and western methods for health and wellness.
