Taste - Fruity and acidic — it has a very mild and nice flavor.
Other Names - Also called Fomes fomentarius, Hoof Fungus (because it looks like a horses hoof), Tinder Polypore, Tinder Conk, Tinder Fungus, Ice Man, and in Japan, it is called Tsuriganetake.
