"...the compassionate path..." ~ Activating Compassion ~
Many feel that being compassionate is about seeing the other person's side of things; but it is so much more than that. The compassionate path is about being open. It is about seeing your side, their side, the truth, what others know to be true.
Not only are we faced with a challenge to look at what we have been blind and resistant to; but we are faced with listening to what we don't want to hear, or not really listening to others. Judgments, wounded pride, tunnel vision, and many other things can jump in the way of our openness. I have learned when I feel these things coming up to stop and bring my focus back into me; and ask "what do I need to get from this situation." It is too easy to go into blaming; but when we bring our attention back to us we create an openness that allows us to shift the situation, or shift ourselves out of the experience we are having within it, and sometimes out of the situation all together.
In my realm of codes compassionate is an act of rebellion; and that can be trouble or transformation. It is a turbulence that teaches us to voice what may not be popular, to be within the upheaval, and to do what needs to be done whether others are with you or not. It creates a turning point that asks us to not be complacent. It is to get to the truth and not simply accept what we are told, or to conform to a single minded view
In the realm of codes if we are on a compassionate path we are in a pattern that allows us to bring balance to the rebellions and turbulence. This is done through being open enough to allow what needs to end, to end; and to make changes. It is about keeping things open and simple enough that you can change directions. It is major transformation. It is to release what is no longer of value, and to make major changes; and to learn to ride the wave of the unexpected.
Openness is a big key in walking the Compassionate Path; because through openness we are able to take the turbulent energy, learn from it, and re-direct the situation towards more favorable conditions. It is to lead others to balance the extremes and to enter into a centered state by one's own choice. To be open on the compassionate path; is to be able to flow and create success in any situation as a result of observation and listening.
