Yummy Deep Dish Tamale Pie

Full of great nutrition that will do the body good. High in protein, anti-inflammatory, lowers blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, high in antioxidants, immune system boosting, slows the aging process, and great for building good probiotic bacteria in our gut. This recipe is very simple to make and takes about 30 minutes to put together and then just pop it in the oven. And my wife said this recipe is delicious.

Another Whole-Foods Plant-Based Recipe:

Ingredients for Crust:

4 - Cups of Organic Corn Flour

A Pinch of Salt

Enough Filtered Water to Make a Stiff Dough

Mix the cornflour and the salt and water together into a stiff dough and place in a bowl and cover with a moist cloth and place in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes.

Ingredients for Filling:

4 - Cups of Organic Plant Based Texturized Protein - Either organic pea or soy

3 - Cups of Organic Fresh or Frozen Corn

1 - Large Organic Yellow Onion

2 - Tablespoons of Mrs. Dash Seasoning

24 - Oz of Organic Mexican Salsa - Mild, Med., or Hot

12 - Oz of Organic Black Olives - Sliced

3 - Tablespoons of Organic Cumin Powder

Salt and Pepper to Taste

Enough Filtered Water to Make the Filling Moist

(Optional) Garnish with a Little Bit of Organic Cashew Cheese on Top and Chopped Tomatoes

Take a 9 x 15-inch 3 or 4-inch deep baking pan and line it with a thin layer of the corn flour dough. Reserve some of the dough for the top of the pie.

Pop dough in the pan in the oven until the dough just cooks slightly and changes color... don't overcook it or it will be too dry. Place in a 400-Degree oven for 30 minutes or so.

Next, sauté the onion in a large pot with a little water until translucent. Now, mix in all the rest of the ingredients on medium heat and add a little bit more water until everything is moist.

Fill the crust in the baking pan and add a layer of dough on top. I flattened out the dough on some foil and then removed the dough from the foil and placed it on top the pie and pinched it together with the already cooked crust.

Bake in a 400-Degree oven for 60 minutes or until the filling starts to bubble a bit in the corners.

Remove from the oven and let cool

Cut into serving portions and serve with a nice organic green salad for a well-rounded meal.

Serves 12 people — or 4 Hungry Guys

Remember to eat organic - Regular fruits, veggies, and grains contain from 30 to 50 disease-causing chemicals in them... not good. So eat organic and stay healthy.
