It is my joy to create informative workshops, courses, keynotes and educational products for health and wellness professionals. Always, my motivation is the welfare of the end-user: the aqua fitness participant; the person in pain after injury or surgery; the inactive individual hoping to create a positive lifestyle change. By providing research-based, quality training for therapists and health professionals, I hope to improve people's lives through movement.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to author numerous training resources related to anatomy, exercise physiology, fitness, aqua fitness, AquaStretch™ and aquatic rehabilitation. Each week, I bring laughter and learning to my chronic pain clients, aquatic rehab patients, and the members of my aqua fitness, osteoporosis and fall prevention exercise groups.
I love training others who wish to become trainers or presenters. I am known and respected for my ability to make complex information practical and easy to understand. However, most of my learners tell me they appreciate my sense of humour, and enthusiastic approach to active learning.

History and More Detail:
My company, For the Love of Fit was founded in 1984 to promote excellence in health and fitness leadership. Since then, I have had the pleasure of training hundreds of fitness and aquafit leaders, as well as rehab specialists, across Canada, USA, and internationally (England, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, and Puerto Rico). This journey to four continents and numerous countries, has allowed me to meet incredible people who focus their energy and talent on helping others.

My world was forever changed in 2010 when I met and was trained by George Eversaul, creator of AquaStretch™. This unique form of aquatic manual therapy has taken USA by storm, and is gaining momentum worldwide. When people discover how quickly and efficiently Aquastretch™ can reduce pain and restore movement, they are hooked! My latest course creation is Self-AquaStretch – useful in 1:1 and group exercise training. Visit: http://www.AquaStretchCanada.com for more information, testimonials, and course opportunities.

AQX Aqua Fitness Leadership Excellence, was founded in 2011 to provide high-quality, affordable in-house training for municipalities, universities and fitness organizations. This program continues to grow as more pool administrators recognize AQX as an affordable alternative to third party certification for their aqua fitness instructors. AQX offers the tools for facilities to develop their own staff to mentor, assess, and train their own staff. Launched in 2015, AquaBility is a one-day training and certification course for AQX leaders who work with people in pain (arthritis and other health conditions). AquaCycling (2016) offers training and certification for group aquatic cycling instructors. AquaTots training and certification will be available fall, 2016.
Awards:
I was honoured in 1990 by the Ontario Fitness Council with their Special Award for Leadership and was the YWCA’s 2001 Woman of Distinction Award winner for Health, Wellness and Active Living. AEA conference delegates ranked me as a consistent top-ten presenter (2007 - 2012). I am proud to be a member of ATRI Faculty, and to have received the ATRI Tsunami Spirit award (2014) for creativity, innovation, and implementation of new ideas in the field of aquatic rehabilitation.
Volunteer Work:
As a breast cancer survivor-thriver, I proudly steer and help coach my survivor dragon boat team: BreastStrokes (http://www.BreastStrokes.org). I have paddled and steered survivor dragon boat races in New Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada, and created training resources for coaches, therapists and post-rehab specialists.
My book: Prescription Laughter was written to help people stay positive through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. I am told this resource is useful for anyone enduring a life crisis. Prescription Laughter is available through http://www.FortheLoveofFit.com
